Giving Back, Growing Forward | UCU Rosemary Orr Scholarship fund
Transform futures—donate to the UCU Rosemary Orr Scholarship Fund today.
Since its founding, University College Utrecht has inspired trailblazers, pacesetters, and solution seekers—students from diverse backgrounds drawn to our distinctive educational programme and vibrant community.
As of 2024, the UCU Fund has been renamed the UCU Rosemary Orr Scholarship Fund, in honor of Dr. Rosemary Orr, a passionate advocate for Liberal Arts and Sciences education and a beloved mentor to many UCU students.
In 2023, as part of UCU's 25th anniversary, we surpassed our goal of 250 donors contributing to this campaign. However, our overall goal remains to raise a total of €75,000 to expand scholarships, ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent talented students from accessing a UCU education.
Join us in continuing this important work—together, we can transform futures!

University College Utrecht is one of the few university colleges in the Netherlands with a need-based financial aid programme. Every year, we award a limited number of scholarships to highly qualified incoming students who would otherwise not be able to afford a UCU education. These partial scholarships vary depending on the financial need of each student.
Our research indicates that, on average, over €1 million in financial aid is required by 100 admitted incoming students annually. However, our current resources limit us to partially supporting only a handful of them. For the remaining admitted students who do not receive aid, particularly those from outside the EEA, the primary reason for not attending UCU is the inability to cover financial costs.
The UCU scholarships are funded from UCU’s resources, contributions from the UU Excellence Scholarships and by donations from alumni, students, and friends of the College. Your contribution will help us continue to assist these very deserving students.
